i talk with my parents in the kitchen for 2 hours straight. i go with mackenzie and madison to indigo hippo, tim’s picks, boba, and hail oddities. we stop by the stained glass studio and the man who runs it let us see the back room where they’re constructing a big glass door pane of a blue heron that costs 15,000 dollars. he tells us a woman named jane does the work. jane brings a cloudy look to his eyes. he says he’d love to have her as his wife, that if her husband ever flew the coop he would swoop in. we leave giggling under our breath a little. later i go to dewey’s with my parents. i pick up miles and we go to mt. adams. he keeps a car light out of my eyes. we walk to smale where he gives me his second sweatshirt and concedes to going on the flying metal pig contraption. on the swinging benches we laugh till we cough about how a tongue split may give him a lisp. “how are you gonna flirt?” “girl thu are tho athractive” i can’t help but feel sad dropping him off.
