Top 10 books at age 34:

In my 30's, I feel like I've read more than the "average" guy. Seldom do I get excited over a story, but these 10 books really affected me in positive ways.

10. Fight Club, Chuck Palahniuk - So many great one-liners about the helplessness of living in our society.
9. Green Metropolis, David Owen - All my city planning ideas come from this.
8. Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Luo Guanzhong - The first epic I've ever finished.
7. Outliers, Malcolm Gladwell - Because it reminds me that I small players can make big differences.
6. Interpreter of Maladies, Jhumpa Lahiri - Because great stories don't have to be long.
5. General Theory of Love - Science, evolution, and why the people who love us shape our lives.
4. The Wind-Up Bird Chronicles, Murakami Haruki - All of his trademark motifs are shown here.
3. Written on the Body, Jeanette Winterson - Reminds me about the power of narration and language.
2. Immortality, Milan Kundera - pushes the boundaries of literature.
1. Wild Sheep Chase, Murakami Haruki - Because a funny mystery is something you can read over and over again.
