The Strokes just after four pm. Call it fate, call it karma. Wasting time on the sidewalk, voices blurred by high-pitched guitar chords and bass and cello. Vinyl records with effortless verses stretched over sheet music. A few seconds slip away and now it's Hard To Explain. Now it's strumming loud guitar. This is the band that revived rock; this is the group whose songs were blasted over car radios. This is the indie, the alternative, the post-grunge revival rock legend with fluorescent lights and late-night diner receipts layered over their chords. This is the band that I adore. Something about their music is simply easy and natural. Steady rhythm and chord transitions. I'm no musician, but I have come to truly appreciate their music. The longer we stand, together we fall apart (Someday). And now it's Fear of Sleep.
