Parents starting pressuring me about one more year of studying and how my life is dependent on that one year. They told me to stop playing so much and understand that I will be a junior. I get them but sometimes I compare myself to my sisters and just think if they'll do the same to them. Being a first child is so hard. They're so little and they got a long way but me? I got one year. One year, sat and act, AP tests, subject tests. Yikes. I should really focus more on my grades and my future. Decide what I'm going to do in my life. My career, my major, my college, and most importantly, whether I'll be happy doing whatever. I feel like I'll still be the optimistic person I am and find happiness in whatever job I get, but what if I'm not as situationally blessed as I am now? I will have to pay for rent, college, food, water, electricity, and so much more. I won't have the same support living with my parents. Everyone these days ask me about all those things. My answers to every one of them is "I don't know". Because I really don't know. I don't have a specific dream, a passion, an ideal job. I'm not great at one thing but I'm ok at everything. But being ok doesn't earn you money. My personal fears are holding me back from change and while I think I can manage myself, but I realize how dependent I am. A friend of mine has an older sister who got in to Cornell but no UCs. Why are college standards so different? She had a 4.2 GPA for gods sake.
