When I wear makeup, I feel pretty. Lately, I've been getting quite a few compliments on my looks at school and on social media. One day at school, a friend of mine complimented me on how pretty I was. It felt nice to hear that. " You're so pretty. " But at the same time, it felt heartbreaking. Wearing makeup is supposed to accentuate your natural beauty, not hide it. When I wear makeup, I feel confident, beautiful. Without it, I don't feel the same. When I look at my bare face in the mirror, I am sad. I don't like what I see. Still, I can't help but stare. I tend to stare a lot. Especially in the mirror. I tend to look at myself and point out flaws. Sometimes I think to myself: " even without makeup, will they still think I am as pretty as am with it on? " It's like I'm in a love-hate relationship with myself. I can't seem to fall in love with my natural beauty, but I fall in love with the outcome of a better me.
