We took Sarah to the veterinary dentist for a meet/greet and blood work. Sarah is a lot easier to examine in her mouth than Jiali. Sarah loves and trusts people, although she makes a great show of barking. Jiali is quiet, silent even, but you can feel the distancing and reserve. Sarah is all bright and young and new and is well socialised. Jiali observes and waits, silently. He is a very old soul, according to my friend. He is a lot better than he used to be.

Something is up either around the neighbourhood or with Jiali. He sleeps while I'm awake and is awake while I'm asleep. It's like one or the either of us has to be on guard, at least as he sees things. Something's up and I can't figure out what it is.
