Today, I learned a very important lesson about having faith. For a while I had been wanting to go out in the nature and had planned to visit the Pound Bend River Walk in Warrandyte State Park.
So, this morning I excitedly got on my adventure. However, the Universe apparently wanted to take me somewhere else. Instead of arrive at the planned destination, I ended up at the Jumping Creek Reserve. I got the journey planner incorrect and it took me to the middle of nowhere, like literally in the middle of walking tracks that I couldn't find on the map. At last, after walking the tracks back and forth for about an hour, I figured out I was on the wrong side of the park, or so I thought. With no public transport available nearby, I walked for another hour to where I thought the River Walk was.
I sighed a relieve when I saw the park's welcome board. After walking for another 20 minutes, only then I realised that I actually ended up at the wrong side (I'm seriously questioning my navigation skill, eh.) Because it was just too far for me to walk back and then find my way to Pound Bend, at last I decided that I should just walk the Jumping Creek track. And I found this perfect meditation spot just a bit outside the walking track with close view of the Yarra River for myself! So, I had the chance to meditate for a moment, although I couldn't keep my eyes shut for a long time for the fear that there may be a snake!
The lesson from this experience is, that sometimes things may not always go the way I want it to be and I may end up on a different path. Acceptance is what enabled me to keep going and during the walk, I discovered something that is just beyond what I've ever expected!
Another lesson is, that whichever path that I destined to be in, I just have to walk it with faith and trust. The second I accepted that I'd walk the track and without knowing what I'd find and where it end, I said goodbye to Google Maps (well, it's also because it didn't quite do what it's supposed to do and just draining my phone battery), and walked with my intuition.
The track was narrow, with no rails, and rocky with steep inclines and declines. My mind was yelling at me, "ARE YOU CRAZY??? TURN AROUND AND GO BACK HOME!!! WHAT IF YOU SLIPPED DOWN TO THE RIVER? BOY, NO ONE IS AROUND TO HELP YOU!" The further I walked, the louder it got. Nevertheless, I kept walking, knowing that I'd be alright. I even enjoyed the return walk and paid more attention to the surroundings that at some point during the walk, I could feel the spirits around me. And I also had a great new experience of being out in the nature alone, bushwalking and meditating! I mean, who would've thought me doing this?!😂
