If we do not learn from history, it is doomed to repeat itself. That is why it is so important to burn these memories into our minds and hearts now, while it is fresh and raw. It is naive to think that politics and life aren't affected by each other and to think otherwise is scary. It is scary because that means one doesn't understand the ramifications of their choices. Our country is torn, people are hurt, crying, scared, and we may never fully recover as a country. To think that isn't a memory about life, is sad. :(
