TO THE BEAUTIFUL PERSON who started off their glorious rant on October 27th with a quote by Og Mandino; the one where we have confined ourself in a jail cell of our making (I had to google that, by the way. So don't think highly of me.) :
I just realized that you could share memories on here. To me that seems unsettling and a bit intimidating and until now I have kept mine on private.
But upon chance I found your "memory", or more so "monologue" if you will, and it really resonated with me.
My god, I feel your words as if they are my own and for the longest minute, I felt as if I wasn't alone.
Not alone in the sense that I am the only individual to occupy a certain area, but alone in the sense that I am the only one who feels as distraught and unsatisfied with the way my life has turned out-- unsatisfied with the decisions I have made in my life that could've easily been changed if I spent enough time to give a damn. Unsatisfied with the fact that everyone around me seems to be blessed with such fortune and happiness that seems to have just been handed to them.
And then I read your piece, let the meaning and relevancy behind it soak into my mind, and realized two things.
1. First I realized that have no right to complain and mope around. I am my own person, responsible for my own actions and I need to shut the fuck up, sit the fuck down, and get my shit together.
2. Second, I realized that what I've been missing in this puzzle called life isn't attained through money or some false sense of affection from a person who hardly knows who I am. What I need is change. A change in my attitude, in my everyday habits, and a change in the way I view the world.
I don't know who you are, and my words cannot express how grateful I am for you choosing to publicize such a private emotion and state. I doubt you'll even find this, but now, because you wrote what could have easily been a narration of my life, the world feels a lot less lonely.
