i put on a dress and then take it off, when does it begin to feel right? I cling onto my mom’s knees as i kneel on the floor beside my parents bed. i’m wading there with my arms above water, crying up into her view. And she’s wiping the tears before they reach my lips. i can’t reach her eyes. my dad says he doesn’t want to know what my art piece is about. he is so terrified he can barely say anything at all. i guess i don’t expect everyone to understand.
